Олександр Коротко став почесним членом “English PEN” 8 липня 2022 року. Після того, як автор отримав офіційного листа від британського ПЕН-клуба, він написав директору “English PEN” :
“Dear Daniel,
that was a tremendous moment to receive the letter of approval from the English PEN. Especially this day when we all feel deep words of gratefulness to the UK for this unique support.
I confirm that I am going to follow all the recommendations and meet all the procedure requirements of the English PEN.
This is an honour for me and a special day in my life as now I feel more confident and inspired. I know that the English PEN can promote Ukraine and draw world attention to what we have in our country these difficult days.
I hope we could create something really important for the freedom of expression and Ukrainian literature in the world.
Thank you again for the membership and for being with you this not easy historical moment.

Деніел Горман приєднався до британського ПЕН-клубу як директор у серпні 2019 року.
До “English PEN” Даніель був виконавчим директором найбільшого в Європі фестивалю сучасної арабської культури Shubbak. Деніел також є співзасновником Highlight Arts, який з 2007 року організовує міжнародні мистецькі фестивалі та заходи у Великій Британії, включаючи проекти, що працюють з письменниками в Пакистані, Іраку, Лівані та Сирії. Деніел писав для Guardian, Irish Times, N+1 та багатьох інших видань.
Деніел є стипендіатом Національних мистецьких стратегій “CEO Community and Culture”, 2015 та стипендіатом “British Council Cultural Leadership International”.
