“JERUSALEM” — chapters from Alexander Korotko’s poem

This holiday week, when Jews all over the world celebrate Passover, we publish on the main page of the site the chapters of the poem about one of the most sacred places in the land of Israel. In the great poetic cycle “Cities” we find “Tel Aviv”, and, of course, poems about Jerusalem, written in different years: ИЕРУСАЛИМ 1. Without pathos, easily and naturally, but with faith in soul, sincerely and deeply Alexander Korotko conveys his fortune – not the tourist, not the observer, and the person who has approached an understanding of simplicity and greatness of this truly royal city. However, over time, the poet had a need to move from poetic graphics to a more monumental pictorial form. So the poem “Jerusalem” appeared and took its place in a large book of selected works “Poetics”, and today, fragmentary, it published on the main page.
