“This Isn’t Even a Poem. It’s a Confession”: A Response to Ada Rogovtseva’s Performance of “STUS”

A response from reader and lawyer Yevhen Polunov to the performance of Alexander Korotko’s poem “Stus” by the renowned Ukrainian actress Ada Rogovtseva.

I listened. And I must say that in Ada Mykolaivna’s voice, it sounds different from the way I experienced it when reading it myself.

It is the coming together of your voice and hers… This isn’t even a poem. It is a confession. A confession of People who, through words, convey the light, the taste, and the essence of those tiny fragments of the divine Self that is present everywhere we are, and even where we are not.

These words have been granted a life of their own, brought into being by the will of a divine spark, whose birth was entrusted to you personally, Master.
