“Vidlunnia Babinoho Yaru” (Echo of Babi Yar)

“Vidlunnia Babinoho Yaru” (Eco of Babi Yar). Thematic annual publication that publishes works on a world-wide tragedy – the mass executions of the Jewish population in Babi Yar. Alexander Korotko’s poems were selected for the anthology, in which the echo of Babi Yar is especially tragic.

От службы по наитию в сон поднебесный, в траву безголосую,

читающую молитву вслух. Боковым зрением памяти озираюсь по

сторонам. Если со мною что и произойдет, то все это будет неправдой.
Чёрный смех с порога моего рождения дышит мне в затылок.
Заходи. Я давно тебя ждал. Ты от всего человечества, а я от нас всех
принимаю поздравления за Бабий Яр, гетто, за всё, что с нами было.

В твоих глазах, обугленных от слез,
звучала поминальная молитва.

И, когда слово прикоснулось
к своей сути и зазвонил колокол,
совершенно опустошенное время
вернулось из будущего и поселилось
на окраине памяти.
