Aleksander Korotko’s new poems have been translated into Polish and Hebrew

We recently added a new work by Aleksander Korotko “Behind the fortress wall of winter…” to the Poetry section of the website.

Read the original poems here:

Almost immediately after Korotko published the poems on his Facebook page, the text was translated into Polish and Hebrew.

Za forteczną

ścianą

zimy  Wojna  dojrzała –  taka  nagroda.

Na tym

pogranicznym

pasie,

w kazamatach

pamięci o Kraju  my  Wszyscy

podobni

do siebie.

Tutaj marzenia  bez skóry  i dni

morderczych

zasadzka.

The author of the translation is professor Andrzej Wicher.

מעבר לחומה
בצורה
של חורף
המלחמה
בָּגְרָה –
זהו
הגמול.
על קו
הגבול
הזה
בתא העינויים
של זכר המולדת
דומים
מאוד
כולנו
זה לזה
כאן חלומות
בלי עור
ובלי ימים קטלניים
של פעימת הלב.
המילה שפירושה תא עינויים עשויה לשמש (בהשאלה) באשר הוא

Translated by Anton Paperny, who has been translating poetry into Hebrew for 30 years. The editor of the text is Moshe Menasheof, a professor of literature in Israel.

We are also publishing the Ukrainian translation, performed by Olga Ilchuk, who has been translating Korotko‘s works into Ukrainian constantly for many years.
